Re-Rooting: Nurturing Inclusion through Rhythm and Dance is a project that aims to address the challenges of cultural diversity and migration by providing a platform for young people to reconnect with their cultural heritage through dance.
This process fosters an understanding of individual identity and authentic preservation of cultural heritage, and prevents cultural appropriation.
The project focuses on promoting social inclusion and encouraging a more open and respectful attitude towards other cultures. Through immersive dance practice, participants learn to appreciate and respect the unique traditions of various communities, promoting empathy, unity and social cohesion. In line with the EU’s integration goals, the initiative raises awareness among young people about the importance of cultural diversity and empowers them as agents of social change within their communities.
The project adopts an emotional and human-centred approach, allowing participants to explore their personal experiences and emotions through movement, and creates a safe and inclusive environment for self-expression. In addition, the project uses dance as a tool for cultural exchange, facilitating the integration of newcomers into host communities, strengthening bonds of solidarity and establishing lasting connections.
In summary, this project offers a transformative experience that celebrates cultural diversity, promotes inclusivity and unity, and encourages young people to contribute to a more cohesive and harmonious society.
