Lithuanian team had an incredible opportunity to participate in the "Regrowing Roots: Nurturing Inclusion through Rhythm and Dance" project, which took place from March 25th to 30th in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. This unforgettable experience brought together participants from Spain, Lithuania, Greece, Türkiye, Romania, and Portugal, uniting us through the power of dance and rhythm.
In the project, we learned dances from the participating countries and gained knowledge in teaching them, explaining the steps, and understanding the meanings behind the dances. We practiced giving presentations and creating tutorials. During the workshops, we had the opportunity to learn different techniques for connecting with ourselves and other dancers.
The project was an amazing experience for us—we met many great people, danced all day and night, experienced the local culture and cuisine, and were fascinated by Gran Canaria’s surroundings.
Rosita: The only bad thing about this project is that it’s too short. I loved the activities and the people; dance connected us all.
Elena: This was 100% my kind of project—nonstop dancing, interesting people, Spanish culture, and Canarian weather.
Dainius: I loved the people and the beach. I loved dancing because it showed that you can communicate with poeple not only with words.
Edgar: This project showed me that dance is more than just movement—it's a universal language that connects people, cultures, and emotions in a way words never could.
