Lithuanian Youth Invited to Green Circles Erasmus+ Project in Norway
HAMAR, NORWAY - Young people from Lithuania have a unique opportunity to participate in "Green Circles," an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange focused on climate change and the circular economy. The project is scheduled to take place in the scenic city of Hamar, Norway, from October 16th to 30th, 2026.
"Green Circles" will unite 51 young individuals from Lithuania, Belgium, Hungary, and the host country, Norway, to collaboratively explore and promote sustainable living. The program is designed to foster a deeper understanding of the circular economy through a variety of non-formal learning methods, including interactive workshops, stimulating debates, and engaging outdoor activities. Participants will have the chance to learn practical upcycling techniques and will be guided in creating their own "Green Action Plans" to implement upon returning to their communities.
The core objectives of the project are to raise awareness about the pressing issue of climate change, encourage intercultural dialogue and understanding, and empower young participants to become proactive leaders for environmental sustainability. The project is committed to inclusivity, with a strong emphasis on providing opportunities for young people who may face social, economic, or other barriers.
The Lithuanian team will be composed of eight young participants, aged between 18 and 30, and one youth leader. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong interest in environmental topics and possess a basic to intermediate level of English communication skills.
The project is hosted by the Norwegian organization ODU (Organisasjonen for Danning og Utvikling) and coordinated by KAIOS ASBL/VZW from Belgium. The official partner for Lithuania is Švietimas ir paveldas.
All participants will be accommodated at the Gåsbustua Storhytte Eco Hostel, a sustainable lodging in Hamar. The Erasmus+ program will cover the costs of accommodation and food. Travel expenses for Lithuanian participants will be reimbursed up to a limit of €309 per person.
Prospective applicants from Lithuania are encouraged to get in touch with Švietimas ir paveldas to receive detailed information about the application process. The final deadline for applications is April 30, 2026.
